In July of 2013 I became a runner. I was getting jiggly and I knew I just wasn’t healthy. I remember how I used to enjoy running in high school, but I thought at the ripe old age of 37, my body just wouldn’t let me run. On July 11th I walked to the local middle school’s track and I ran 1 mile. That 1 mile didn’t kill me. That 1 mile took me 8:01 minutes to run. Seeing that :01 made me want to run a sub-8 minute mile. I’ve been running pretty much every day since. Running gives me my me time. Running lets me get inside my own head. Running lets me push myself and make myself better.
